Our Herbal Insect Repellent is built around catnip — an herb that studies suggest repels mosquitoes up to 10 times more effectively than DEET. This formula works by overwhelming the olfactory senses of insects. Bugs navigate by smell. These plants confuse that system completely.
Every ingredient is something you can look up, say out loud, and feel good about putting on your skin.
Ingredients: Catnip and basil infused witch hazel, distilled water, lemongrass essential oil, basil essential oil, citronella essential oil, Optiphen Plus (preservative).
A note on Optiphen Plus — because this formula contains water, a preservative is required to keep it safe for use on skin. Optiphen Plus is one of the most widely accepted preservatives in natural formulation. Every other ingredient in this bottle came from a plant.
How to use: Spray directly onto exposed skin and clothing. Reapply as needed — frequency varies depending on your body chemistry and activity level. For heavy brush and tick prone areas we recommend additional precaution.
